Supersymmetric Unification Without Proton Decay

چکیده
We present a supersymmetric grand unification scheme based on the gauge group SU(3)c×SU(3)L×SU(3)R in which the proton and the lightest supersymmetric particle are stable, neutrinos are necessarily massive, and the observed baryon asymmetry originates in the lepton sector. Such models are also consistent with the measured value of sin θW as well as unification of the gauge couplings. ∗Supported in part by NATO Grant #CRG-910573 and Department of Energy Grant #DE-FG02-91ER406267.

Gravity-assisted exact unification in minimal supersymmetric SU(5) and its gaugino mass spectrum
Minimal supersymmetric SU(5) with exact unification is naively inconsistent with proton decay constraints. However, it can be made viable by a gravity-induced nonrenormalizable operator connecting the adjoint Higgs boson and adjoint vector boson representations. We compute the allowed coupling space for this theory and find natural compatibility with proton decay constraints even for relatively...
متن کاملProton Decay in a Consistent Supersymmetric SU(5) GUT Model
It is widely believed that minimal supersymmetric SU(5) GUTs have been excluded by the SuperKamiokande bound for the proton decay rate. In the minimal model, however, the theoretical prediction assumes unification of Yukawa couplings, Yd = Ye, which is known to be badly violated. We analyze the implications of this fact for the proton decay rate. In a consistent SU(5) model with higher dimensio...
متن کاملProton Decay in the Semi-Simple Unification
Semi-simple unification is one of a model which naturally solves two difficulties in the supersymmetric grand unification theory: doublet-triplet splitting problem and suppression of dimension 5 proton decay. We analyzed the dimension 6 proton decay of this model using perturbative analysis at the next-to-leading order. The life time of proton is 3×1034 1035 years for wide range of SUSY breakin...
متن کاملFamily Symmetries and Proton Decay
The proton decay modes p → Ke and p → Kμ may be visible in certain supersymmetric theories, and if seen would provide evidence for new flavor physics at extremely short distances. These decay modes can arise from the dimension five operator (Q1Q1Q2L1,2), where Qi and Li are i th generation quark and lepton superfields respectively. Such an operator is not generated at observable levels due to g...
